Gallery: New York Impressions

New York City is the city of hidden beauty. People around the world associate “America” automatically with New York City. A lot has been written about the city, I will try to “show off” the city with photos and impressions. Check the gallery and my social media properties for more New York City photos and impressions.

Since I can think, New York City has interested and amazed me. From looking at photographs, watching movies, hearing stories to visiting for vacation, the city had a lasting impact on me. In 1982, life brought me to New York City. Since then I have walked through the boroughs, up and down and from East to West. Have I seen everything? No, I haven’t. It will probably take me another 10 years to even get close to see it all. What I have seen made me believe New York City is the world in a smaller format. If you take the time, and enjoy it, walk 10 miles up or down in one direction and most likely you have seen different countries and many different cultures. People from all over the world have left their mark in this amazing city. Per chance I started taking pictures of this amazing place and since I do it, I have discovered another wonderful characteristic: New York City is not only everything else, it is also beautiful!

This site and the attached social media profiles show some of the photos and impressions I took from New York City.

Have a look and hopefully I can tickle some interest out of you.

Wikipedia article; if you skim through it, you'll know basically as much as I do about the place. I'm staying in a condo in the "Pearl District" section of northwest Portland, which seems to have a lot of renovated lofts and warehouses, as well as a bunch of shops and restaurants. It doesn't seem to be the richest or the poorest part of town, nor is it the center of the most liberal hippies or the most conservative folks. But I'm starting to wander into other parts of the city, and hopefully I'll gradually accumulate a bunch of different photos of the people, the buildings, the landmarks, and all of the other details that make Portland different than ... well, at least different from New York City." class="fancy-gallery" data-fancybox-group="fancybox-thumb" href="">
